Stacey has been a part of the Australia Zoo family since 2002, starting her career here within the Human Resources Department. During 2004 and 2005 she travelled overseas, basing herself in a small country town in England called Shrewsbury while travelling throughout the UK and Europe. Since returning to Australia, Stacey has spent time enjoying a self-guided road trip along the east coast and through South Australia and Victoria. Shortly after she returned, Stacey joined Australia Zoo Travel.
Worst holiday experience: Being eaten alive by mosquitos after running out of fuel on a road trip with an English girl somewhere in South Australia.
Favourite holiday activity: Scuba diving and adventure activities like paragliding, sky diving, and I look forward to whitewater rafting in the future.
Favourite city: Verona, Italy
Favourite country: Kenya – I have to say, visiting this place is like stepping into a real life Jurassic Park. I loved it!
Previous travels include: The east and south coasts of Australia, England, Southern Ireland, Scotland, Italy, Germany, Kenya and Fiji .
Last Trip Away:Darwin, Northern Territory where I spent most my time fishing and caught my first Barramundi (65cm)! This was also the first time I have seen crocdiles in the wild and by crikey they were big, one was probably 15ft.
Next destination: Papua New Guine (PNG) - To trek along the famous Kokoda Track.
Travel wish list: West coast line of Australia to dive with Whale Sharks, Thailand, New Zealand and will definitely go back to Africa. I would love to climb Mt Kilimanjaro. I would also like to do the Kokoda Trail for an ANZAC ceremony. |
